During a time of great conflict, an investigation into the validity of this particular election reveals the many ways in which a fair election process can be subverted and exposes the grim reality that elections during this period were conducted under military rule. Beyond the specific recounting of one election, this book has a larger scope that delves into the complex issues of voter suppression and the mechanisms through which such suppression was carried out. The outcome of this specific election is not as important as the account of how the election was conducted and the extent to which the election process was corrupted, ensuring that only a certain type of candidate could win under such conditions. This book is a must-read for anyone interested in the true history of voter suppression in America. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
