The author presents a theoretical analysis to investigate the discrepancies between an ideal magnetic field and the finite field strengths used in practice. The author proves that three real roots exist for the resulting complex equation and concludes that the finite magnetic field strength does not change the fundamental characteristics of wave propagation in the tube.
