This book investigates a persistent belief, held by many, that the Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4th, 1776, and examines historical records surrounding the event to challenge this assumption. It draws from the journals of Congress and the letters of Thomas McKean, a signer of the Declaration, whose accounts contradict commonly held beliefs about the signing. The book explores the historical evidence around the signing of the Declaration of Independence, inviting readers to reconsider its timeline and providing new insights into one of the most significant events in American history.
