The author argues that morality is not dependent on arbitrary authority or personal convenience, but rather is rooted in the immutable nature of things and the eternal principles of reason. Drawing on insights from ancient philosophers, Christian theologians, and modern thinkers, the book explores the distinction between natural law and positive law, the nature of conscience, and the relationship between morality and religion. Through rigorous analysis and engaging prose, the author leads us to a profound understanding of the foundations of morality and its enduring significance in human life.
