This book presents a collection of extracts from the Pipe Rolls for the counties of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire from the earliest period of their existence to the end of King Edward I's reign. Pipe Rolls were the annual accounts of the nation and are the most valuable series of records relating to the history of England. They contain a huge quantity of information of great genealogical and historical importance: anything from accounts of scutage, murder payments, amercements for offences, and the expenses of royal hunts and expeditions. This publication will be indispensable for research into the medieval period and genealogy.
