Led by former Canon Enrico di Campello and Monsignore Giambattista Savarese, this movement emerged from a desire to restore the church to its principles and practices of the time of Saint Ambrose. The author explores the motivations behind the movement, including its founders' disillusionment with Rome's increasingly authoritarian stance and its embrace of doctrines such as papal infallibility. The book also provides a glimpse into the inner workings of the Vatican and the challenges faced by those seeking change from within. Ultimately, the author argues that this movement represents an important step in the evolution of Roman Catholicism and a return to its core values of inclusivity and faithfulness to the teachings of Christ.
