Auf diese Weise schuf sie kuriose Schmuckstücke und entwickelte den Kunststil, den wir heute bewundern. Ihre lebhaften Farben und fröhlichen Gemälde wurden so beliebt, dass ihre Kunstwerke rund um den Globus lizenziert wurden. Durch die Kunst fand sie Trost, Frieden und ihren eigenen Weg der seelischen Heilung.Laurels Bilder sind voller fantasiereicher Visionen, sprühender Farben und lebendiger Wesen. Als sie 1971 China besuchte, um mit der Massenproduktion der von ihr entworfenen Artikel zu beginnen, entdeckte sie Cloisonné, eine traditionelle Technik zur Verzierung von Metalloberflächen mit Emaille. Daraufhin wurde diese Technik zu einem der Markenzeichen ihres Kunststils.Viele ihrer Gemälde erinnern uns an Cloisonné-Emaillen mit ihren kleinen, farbenreichen Einsätzen. Dieses Motiv steht Laurels restlichen Gemälden an Lebhaftigkeit und Liebreiz in nichts nach und zeigt, dass dem Natürlichen genauso viel Magie innewohnt wie dem Übernatürlichen. Laurel verbrachte ihr gesamtes Leben mit der Fertigung von Kunstwerken, die die Menschen an diese Magie erinnern würden, und mit unserem Einband wollen wir ihrem Bestreben Tribut zollen.Laurel begann ihre Künstlerkarriere als Autodidaktin; sie brachte anderen ihre Kunst nahe, indem sie ihnen ihre selbst angefertigten Kunstwerke schenkte.
