ABOUT THIS BOOK: Details the unprecedented cooperation between the US and Royal navies, revealing the poor state of training and gunnery on the American side, and looking at the strategic ideas of US naval leaders governing the use of capital ships. Explaining that the experience of joint operations benefited the entire US fleet, the author reasons that the US Navy learned from exposure to British methods and experience, and concludes that the addition of American battleships allowed the Allies to protect Scandinavian commerce and supply lines.(Publisher).
