Adele Levine, P.T., worked as a physical therapist in the hospital's rehabilitation department from 2005 to 2011. Dr. Adele Levine is a Washington, District Of Columbia based female… physical therapist. Dr. Adele Levine evaluates and treats people with health problems resulting from injury or disease. She assess joint motion, muscle strength and endurance, function of heart and lungs, and performance of activities required in daily living, among other responsibilities. Treatment includes therapeutic exercises, cardiovascular endurance training, and training in activities of daily living. Physical therapists treat disease, injury, or loss of a bodily part by physical means, such as the application of light, heat, cold, water, electricity, massage and exercise. They develop treatment plans based upon each patient's strengths, weaknesses, range of motion and ability to function. She had enrolled in physical therapy school mostly out of hopes it would lead to a reliable job, and had applied to Walter Reed because it was across the street from her apartment. Adele found herself on the front lines of the mostly unseen struggle to rehabilitate some of the most devastating battle injuries from the War on Terror. From outside the glass walls of the hospital's physical therapy clinic, nicknamed the Fishbowl by Adele the physical therapists cracked jokes and helped sneak in cookies and cheerleaders, while the patients compared stumps. It is here that Adele, Jim, Darcy, and all the other physical therapists used exuberant cheers, playful teasing, and exercises pulled from Men's Health magazine to battle apathy and desolation and get patients back on their feet.
