His responsibilities placed him at the centre of major programs, significant news events and the intense pressures of managing a leading commercial television station.Returning to Western Australia, George became the founding Managing Director of 96FM, Perth's first commercial FM radio station. Launched on 8 August 1980, 96FM achieved exceptional early success and helped transform the city's radio landscape.George's career later expanded across Asia. From Hong Kong to Malaysia, Indonesia, India and China, he played senior roles in the development of radio, television, satellite and multimedia ventures. These assignments brought new challenges, lasting friendships and a deeper understanding of the cultures and business practices of the region.Along the way, George encountered broadcasters, entertainers, politicians, business leaders and unforgettable characters.
