The pictures themselves are acceptable, though some tones such as orange are washed out. For each species profile the book provides a color photograph with the following information: length, weight, origin, status, aviculture, accommodation, diet, clutch size, incubation, young in nest, sexual dimorphism, etc. , etc. , etc. Mrs Low has been a prolific author who has produced several species specific books for birds like macaws, caiques, lories and others. If the reader requires detailed information that would be the place to look rather than this text.
