Réunissant près de deux cents tenues, accessoires, objets royaux, photographies, échantillons de tissus et broderies (de la maison Lesage et de la princesse Sirivannavari), l'exposition offre un aperçu unique de la riche tradition artisanale thaïlandaise dans le domaine des textiles, des bijoux et des accessoires. Elle rend manifeste l'usage de la mode comme une forme de diplomatie culturelle qui œuvre à travers l'image, l'artisanat et les matières. À travers 7 chapitres et 150 illustrations, le catalogue revient également sur l'histoire des relations entre les deux pays et, plus spécifiquement, la collection thaïlandaise du musée des Arts décoratifs, décrit les techniques du tissage artisanal thaïlandais et, enfin, donne un aperçu de la bouillonnante scène de la création contemporaine en Thaïlande.
