Dieser berühmte Ausspruch wird dem römischen Kaiser Vespasian zugeschrieben.Schon im alten Rom wurde insbesondere gefaulter Urin als Mittel zur Ledergerbung eingesetzt. So wurden an belebten Strassen in Rom Latrinen aufgestellt, um dort den Urin einzusammeln, der von Gerbern benötig wurde. Man stelle sich dies heute mal vor!Vespasian traf bei seinem Amtsantritt leere Staatskassen an. Also gab es dies schon damals! Er erhob darum eine sogenannte Latrinensteuer. Er habe seinem Sohn die Einnahmen aus dieser Steuer unter die Nase gehalten und gefragt, ob ihn der Geruch störe. Als dieser verneinte, meinte der Vater: 'Und doch kommt es vom Urin!'Heute noch werden in Italien öffentliche Toiletten 'Vespasiani' genannt!Hat der Kaiser damals mit dem Urin vielleicht zweimal kassiert In den Vespasiani von damals, und dann nochmals beim Verkauf dieser 'Brühe' an die Gerber Und was war denn zu jener Zeit mit diesem 'kostbaren Saft' von Pferden, Kühen und vielem anderen Getier War dieser auch brauchbar Ein gewiefter Manager von heute hätte dieses Geschäft sicher noch ausgeweitet und neue Ressourcen geschaffen! Leider weist die Geschichtsschreibung der alten Römer auf diesem Gebiet doch Lücken auf. Vielleicht ist es aber besser so.…
