They are formed by self -assembly of non -ionic surfactant and cholesterol upon hydration with aqueous media resulting in lamellar structures that e…ncapsulates both polar and non polar drugs. In the present research work Montelukast sodium niosomes were prepared by using non -ionic surfactant span 60 and cholesterol in 1:1 concentration by thin film hydration method using rotary vaccum evaporator. The prepared Montelukast sodium niosomes were incorporated into the nanogel prepared by varying concentration of carbopol 934 to check the effect of polymer concentration on gel property. Niosomal gels were optimized and evaluated for various parameters such as homogeneity, grittiness, pH, viscosity, spreadability, extrudability, drug content, skin irritation, in -vitro diffusion, zeta size, zeta potential, Etem study for vesicle size and stability study. Nanogel was successfully formulated by usingMontelukast sodium niosome dispersion. The avg. sizes of niosome vesicles were found to be 496.2 nm and poly dispersity index (PI) was found to be 0.680, zeta potential study reveals that system was stable.
