With this nine-switch configuration in the rectifier stage it's possible to integrate two independent sources into single power electronic interface. The PV system is interfaced with DIMC through a six-step inverter in order to obtain three phase ac so that it can be processed by DIMC. Under different modes, DIMC works as AC-AC with single source or dual source. A control algorithm has been proposed to select the renewable source that generates enough power to supply the grid.
