D. University of Agriculture & Technology, Narendra Nagar (Kumarganj), Ayodhya (U.P.). The experiment consisted of Randomized Block Design (RBD) at nine treatment combinations and four replications comprised of three sowing dates viz., Ist date of sowing on Nov 15 (D1), IInd date of sowing on Nov 25 (D2) and IIIrd dates of sowing on Dec 05 (D3) and three varieties viz., PBW-343 (V1), PBW-502 (V2) and HD-2967 (V3). Wheat is a cool-season crop. Cool-weather during vegetative development and warm weather for maturity is deemed ideal for wheat. The minimum growth temperature for wheat is 3-40C, the optimum temperature is about 250C, and the maximum from about 30-320C.
