First, we carefully examined the failure history of each machine. Then we used Pareto's law to rank the failures in order of priority, which showed that hydraulic failures represented the highest percentage of the different types of failure, so this category was prioritized. To identify the causes of hydraulic failures, we used the Ishikawa diagram, better known as the 'cause-effect' diagram. This analysis revealed that the main factors contributing to these failures were both manpower and working methods. To investigate hydraulic failures further, we applied the Weibull model, which revealed fluctuations in machine reliability. In addition to calculating availability, the main aim of this study was to reduce breakdowns by increasing machine reliability and productivity.
