Neuware -This research presents the development of a hydrophobic anti-dust coating applied to glass surfaces to enhance self-cleaning efficiency, environmental durability, and microbial resistance. A polymeric formulation was prepared using butyl acrylate, styrene, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate (2-EHA), methyl methacrylate (MMA), isobutanol, xylene, and methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK), with benzoyl peroxide acting as the free-radical initiator. The coating was applied to clean glass substrates using the dip-coating method and cured under ambient conditions. The coated surfaces were evaluated for hydrophobicity using water contact angle measurements, which confirmed a significant increase in water repellency. Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) and UV-Visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy were employed to analyze chemical structure and optical transparency, respectively. Additionally, antimicrobial tests revealed the coating's resistance to microbial growth, making it suitable for environments requiring cleanliness and hygiene. The results demonstrate that the formulated coating provides effective anti-dust and hydrophobic performance while maintaining optical clarity and antimicrobial protection. 80 pp. Englisch.
