He joined the Indian Civil Service in 1901 and served in various capacities in the United Provinces, including as Financial Secretary and a Member of the Executive Council. He received honors and awards for his service, including the OBE and KCIE. After retiring, he returned to England and spent his final years in Fleet, where he passed away in 1941. Blunt authored several publications, exploring topics such as historical inscriptions, the caste system in Northern India, and social and economic issues facing the Indian people.
