If you're familiar with Anne Sprinkle, then you can probably imagine what her autobiography is like. Well, take that and multiply it by ten and you'll probably have a better idea. She is definitely not shy. Some will be surprised her book is legal and will be even more surprised that it's in public libraries, although they probably keep it in their special collections. There's a story behind this particular copy. In 1993 I interviewed Annie backstage after one of her Post-Porn Modernist shows which was presented as performance art. I wouldn't argue with that. It was there that I also met Veronica Hart and Kelly Nichols, both of whom I also interviewed a week or so later. Annie had this copy of her book with her. She said it was one of her last copies and was reluctant to sell it. This is the first edition. Later there were two more editions, but at this time no more were expected. I bought it from her for $100--which is $220 in today's dollars--as I thought it would give me insight into her background. It did. It does present her entire life story in forthright detail. No one will ever accuse her of holding back. Its 128 pages contain more than 500 photographs, mostly in full color. According to her book, she's been a "porn star, prostitute, pin-up model, queen of kink, photographer, sex guru and performance artist." And it's all here. I have carefully protected this copy in order to keep it in new condition and it still looks the same as the day she autographed it to me. It's even in the zip-lock bag she kept it in.
