Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Virginia is more than a place; it is a system of watersheds, ridges, ports, and routes. Maps shape markets and nations. In this brisk preliminary report, renowned navigator and scientist M. F. Maury argues that understanding terrain is the first act of rebuilding. What follows is a geographical survey report with urgency in every page, aligning the physical geography of Virginia with its commercial future and national importance.Part historical nonfiction pamphlet, part commercial geography analysis, the work looks at how rivers, harbours, soils, climate, and connections between regions can become Virginia commercial advantages - or constraints to be solved. Presented as a facsimile document reproduction of the complete public domain text, it retains the documentary feel of a report meant to move minds.Out of print for decades and now republished by Alpha Editions. Restored for today's and future generations. More than a reprint - a collector's item and a cultural treasure for casual readers of regional history and for collectors of classic American non-fiction alike.…
