He has been bestowed with the Sahitya Academy Award (1977) for his novel Kuruthip Punal, and the Sangeet Natak Academy Award (2004), amongst many more honours. Dr Parthasarathy was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India (2010) for his literary and academic achievements.
