That brutal race are the Meeduans.The 'message' is from a peaceful alien race who have already been defeated by the Meeduans. The information in the 'message' describes the attack and the main reason they have selected Earth as their next target.they want to capture Earth's population, to create a renewable food source. We are viewed like cattle. They intend to kill those over 30 for an immediate food supply and place younger folks into a breeding program to feed their home planet. (the story is not 'X' rated)The main genre is sci fi action adventure but utilizes five substories woven into the main storyline to tell how the people of Earth fight back. Those stories focus on individuals, friends, and the military, dealing with the invasion, fighting for their lives, and doing what they can to protect the younger folks from being captured. The locations range from Texas ranches, to sailboats, to small towns, and of course .space.Synopsis: Our weapons and technology can't compete with that of the alien invaders, so they are winning the war. However, we learn the Meeduans are smaller and not as strong as the inhabitants of Earth, so we devise a plan to take the fight to the individuals by going inside their main spaceship, currently in orbit around Earth.The Meeduans are brutal, treating captives like livestock. Some of the scenes can be disturbing and graphic. They view us like cattle so use your imagination. Their advanced weaponry can destroy entire cities, leaving no one to fight back.There are a number of heroes in the story, who come from various backgrounds, but the four primary heroes are a retired Marine with a wife and two daughters, a tough young woman who is determined not to surrender, and two younger soldiers with a sense of humor.When we launch a counter-attack, the Meeduans change their tactics, destroying most of our team, but the heroes don't give up and come up with a unique idea in an attempt to stop the invaders.The use of both narrative and conversation keeps the story moving and draws the reader to connect with the characters. There are lots of action sequences but there are also heart wrenching scenes as the residents of Earth fight back, and our heroes try to rescue the young people taken captive.
