Students are given multiple opportunities to read and write words with the targeted decoding skill while connecting them to meaningful text. Each lesson includes activating prior knowledge (oral language), high-frequency word review, phonemic awareness with the target skill, word-level fluency practice, connected text practice, comprehension questions, phoneme-grapheme mapping of the targeted skill, and dictation. Students graph their progress, which increases motivation, and provides immediate feedback on their success. This program can also be used as an intervention, prevention, or extension for kindergarten and up. The lessons are complete and ready to go, making them perfect for reading interventionists, classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, tutors, and homeschool settings.
