His criteria for acceptance into the collection were amongst the most stringent of all the scholars of ahadith.Sahih Al Bukhari is one of the Kutub al-Sittah (six major hadith collections) of Sunni Islam, compiled by a Muslim scholar Muhammad al-Bukhari. It was completed around 846 CE / 232 AH. Sunni Muslims view this as one of the two most trusted collections of hadith along with Sahih Muslim. The Arabic word sahih translates as authentic or correct. Sahih al-Bukhari, together with Sahih Muslim is known as Sahihayn.Sahih Al Bukhari contains around 2,600 ahadith without repetitions and 7,563 ahadith with repetitions.[6][citation needed] It is an important book in Islamic literature. It is the first book to only include the ahadith without interpretations of the companions (ra) and their successors.
