Book Two of the Rostalis Darkfire Chronicles: A fantasy novel which explores the boundaries of what is civilized, and what is not, what it actually means to be the queen once the throne is won, and how the struggle to unite two warring peoples can't be solved by anything as simple as a crown.First there was treachery, and then there was war. For the inhabitants of Rostalis, surely a return to peace was due? As Queen, Niamh was faced with a whole new set of challenges now that the war was won. The rebuilding of the mage council, the purging of her father's influences on the land and, most of all, the mending of the conflicts caused by her ascension to the throne. But peace is hard come by and once the door is open for war, it's hard to push it closed again. Niamh will have to give everything she has if she is to survive and hold the throne, and this time - with her husband missing and her Wolder Army disbanded - she'll have to do it alone. This epic fantasy is the follow on from The King's Idiot, and is set twelve years into the future. Niamh needs to stop this new war before it destroys everything, put the council back together with only child-mages left alive, and on top of it all, she needs to discover if her husband is alive or dead.Acclaim for the first novel in this romantic fantasy series: The King's Idiot.5* I love this book. It's not often a book will grab my attention from the start. The first line of this book had me hooked. I love the story, the characters, the detail. I have to know what happens next. I can't wait for a sequel .5*The Kings's Idiot was such an amazing book. It was a fun-filled adventure, with loveable characters who had so much depth to them. Was amazing how so many different elements of medieval times and fantasy came together to create a book that I couldn't put down. This item is printed on demand.
