Apache Beadwork Instructions and Designs is published by Faudel, Phillips & Sons in 1903 and is a First Edition. A 40 page booklet containing designs and photographic images of purses, necklaces etc. It measures 13 x 17.5 cms or 5 x 7 inches. It is in Very Good condition. The cover is slightly marked, the staples are a bit rusty, the pages are clean and fresh. The Faudelia Bead Instruction Book No 2 is published by Faudel, Phillips & Sons in the early 1900s. Probably also a First Edition. It contains 24 pages describing the making of a bead lamp fringe, a quaker purse and wrist bag, a tam o-shanter purse the Faudelia purse and novelty necklaces. It is the same size as the previous book, in Very Good condition with clean front cover and slightly rusty staples. Both books advertise the "Apache" Beadwork Loom on the inside of the back cover. This would seem to be the loom photographed with thread attached. The second loom has metal fittings. The sticker on the second loom would suggest that the whole kit was purchased from John F. Newton, Dealer in Beads, Hollywood Road, West Brompton, London S.W. The first loom is missing a peg. The second all three pegs. It is possible that some other small pins are missing. The three additional bits of paper give instructions as to the working of the loom and show designs.
