Soft cover. Condizione: Good. (Meunier, Schaeberle, Kingsmill, Pickering.) MARS. 4 papers from NATURE (volume 47), offered in four complete weekly issues. (1) Stanislaus Meunier, "The Canals of Mars" 17 November 1892, pg 64, in the issue of pp 49-72 #1203. (2) "The Channels of Mars" by T.W. Kingsmill on a Meunier paper, 8 December 1892, pg 133, in the issue of p 121-144. (3) John M. Schaeberle, "The Markings on Mars", 29 December 1892, #1209, p 209 in the issue of pp 193-216. (4) Edward Charles Pickering, "The Recent Opposition of Mars", p. 235, #1210, 5 January 1893, in the issue of pp 217-240. Pickering has some interesting things to say here, commenting that clouds on Mars definitely exist, as well as water and presumably vegetation. There is a mention of observing the "canals" though without stating explicitly what they were. [++] All papers are weekly and complete, and offered with their original wrappers. All have been neatly removed from a larger bound volume.
