The spine ends look very good. The cover edges look very good, no rubbing. The cover corners look very good, no rubbing. The page edges are exceptionally clean. The book is square and the spine is straight. The binding is very solid with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The front and rear inside covers and end papers form two different maps. They are in excellent condition. The only flaw: something was penciled and erased below the top corner of the mapped front end paper. The impression of the numbers remains. The interior of the book is in excellent condition. The pages are exceptionally clean. Scrolling through, I'm not finding any instances of soiling. I'm not finding any placeholder creases. There is a teeny tiny crease just above the tips of the bottom corners of five consecutive pages, obviously far from the print, not much of anything. There are no markings in the book. No attachments of any kind. And no writing other than the erasure just referenced. 'The book is illustrated with maps and with more than forty of the author's own photographs. Portions of the text have appeared as a series in The New Yorker.' All of the maps and photographs are in excellent condition. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. It's quite clean. However there is some rubbing at the top and bottom edges of the spine and along parts of the side edges of the spine. There is a tiny nick at the top edge of the front cover and a small tear at the top edge of the rear cover. The flaps are in very nice condition, clean, no tears. The jacket is NOT priced-clipped, not clipped at all. It will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are scanned.
