Condizione: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - This study examined the potential contribution of multimedia software in computer-assisted language learning (CALL) to the discipline of second language acquisition (SLA). The main aim of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of using multimedia computers in language learning in general while investigating the interdisciplinary relationship between CALL and SLA and how the use of multimedia in CALL assists in the acquisition of a second language. To achieve the aim of the study an experiment was undertaken whereby a group of subjects, specifically Arab learners of English, participated in an experiment where the language skills of reading comprehension and listening and understanding are assessed by way of exercises. Similarly, further work on these skills was under taken using conventional learning methods. Finally, the results of both experiments were drawn.
