Condizione: Fair. 224 pages. No dust jacket. Green pictorial cloth. Inscription to front endpaper. Pages are moderately tanned and thumbed at the edges, with moderate foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards have been moderately rub worn. Noticeable shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are bumped and a little frayed Spine ends are crushed, with noticeable splits and chips. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.

Undated but pen inscription to front pastedown states 1907. Light foxing and tanning to pages and plates. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Light cracking and staining to gutters and hinges but binding remains firm. Slight creasing to page 223-4. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild staining, tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has similar tanning with soft crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean.

Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. No Jacket. Crompton, J. Shaw (illustratore). Decorated green cloth with gilt titles and white entwined thistles on cover and spine. Very slight bumping to corners and shelf wear to spine head and foot. Back board shows some slight bulging and discoloration along bottom-edge. Inscription on ffep dated 1913: "Dearest Miriam / From her padre / 1913." Another owner's name on bottom of ffep. 16 pages of ads at end for other books for adults and juveniles. Spine starting in two places, but still a solid copy.

Condizione: Poor. Different representation of the cover. Foxing to the content, seems fine to read throughout, a decent hardback.
