Traditionally, industries favored sequential design models to maintain the importance of specific design elements. However, this approach has proven inefficient, leading to increased development time, higher costs, and reduced quality. The author introduces a methodology based on the Work Transformation Matrix (WTM) model to analyze the effects of completing tasks concurrently or sequentially. By calculating the time and effort required for each task arrangement, the model assists in identifying the optimal distribution of tasks between phases. This book not only explores the theoretical underpinnings of the WTM model but also provides practical guidance for implementing the approach in real-world design scenarios. Through its exploration of task interdependencies and the impact of scheduling decisions on design outcomes, this book offers valuable insights for engineers and managers seeking to optimize their design processes. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
