Die Anträge betreffen zumeist Liegenschaften, die in den Jahren 1938 bis 1945 entzogen worden waren, zum Stichtag des Abkommens am 17. Jänner 2001 im öffentlichen Eigentum standen und in vielen Fällen nach 1945 bereits Gegenstand von Rückstellungsverfahren gewesen sind.Seit 2003 hat die Schiedsinstanz zahlreiche Anträge geprüft und in einigen Entscheidungen die Restitution von Liegenschaften an die RechtsnachfolgerInnen der einstigen EigentümerInnen empfohlen.
