The theme of that year's conference was Fifty Years with Transuranium Elements. The 27 page official Program of the Conference is included with this book. Also included is a 1999 magazine obituary of Seaborg as well as a handwritten note by the previous owner of the book who attended the Conference and watched Seaborg and Ghoirso sign the book. Seaborg won the Noble Prize in Chemistry and discovered 10 transuranium elements. Ghiorso was a nuclear scientist who co-discovered 12 elements. Together they helped re-write the Periodic Table. Small label on first free endpaper indicating this book was a gift from the Welch Foundation. No previous owner marks - book is clean and bright. Dust jacket is clean and bright.
