An underground guide for gay men new to the Big Apple, along with a smattering of interesting locations in nearby North Jersey. The short introduction boasts the city is the "number one fun spot in the United States for the gay scene" with "excitement around every corner," but also reminds readers that New York can also be "a cruel city with its share of heartbreak and disappointment for the gay guy. It offers many sadistic dangers and entrapments as well as delights." The guide begins with a list of recommended gay bars - their location, how to dress, and the type of clientele, ranging from "Elegantly Gay" to "Leather Jackets, Boots." Next are the locations of gay-friendly saunas, baths, restaurants and cabarets, with particular emphasis on notable "T Rooms" (lavatories) around town, such as Bloomingdale's (on Saturday), the Staten Island Ferry and specific subway stops, along with a short list of theatres with dark inviting balconies and welcoming bathrooms to be investigated. The guide also recommends a few small art galleries, a gay bookstore (Oscar Wilde Memorial Bookshop), and an animal shelter, as well as a number of clothing stores with vintage and modern fashions, such as The Shed House in the Village where one can buy "human hair wigs for men." The guide ends with a promise vouching for the authenticity of the places in this guide ("confirmed by actual, recent patronization") and with a note from "J. Stewart" and P.O.
