A finely illustrated travel and business guide to Colorado, the second year of publication. In alphabetical order each city, town, and attraction is listed with maps of several of the areas described. Included are maps of Denver with its railroad connections, Boulder with gold and copper regions noted, Evans, Golden and Pueblo plus many illustrated advertisements for local merchants such as bankers, boots and shoes, newspapers, dentists, jewelers, hotels, carriage manufacturers, real estate agents, etc. This is the second annual edition of the Hand-Book, the first having been published the previous year. A scarce Colorado business directory and hand book, overlooked by Howes and Graff. Herd 524 lists the 1871 issue as "rare" and "Copy seen in the Rollins Collection, Princeton University" but he missed the 1872 and 1873 editions. Pages 72-73 has a small closed tear to the page fore-edge else a bright, near fine copy of a scarce book.
