An inferential sample of 327 students was drawn from an undergraduate accounting program in a higher education institution located in Cambodia. An anonymous, self-administered questionnaire was utilized to examine certain psychological traits of its respondents (i.e, introversion, ambiversion, and extroversion) as well as examining the nine demographic, independent variables of self-reported socio-economic status of family, self-reported academia grade level, year of study (i.e., freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior), gender, location where the respondent was raised (Phnom Penh v. provinces), influence of family and friends on career choice, influence of accountant or auditors acquaintances, influence of social or other media, and the influence of teachers in accounting classes. In addition, there were sixteen attitudinal questions to address thirteen hypotheses. The study found mild to medium support for all the demographic variable-based hypotheses, except for the location where the respondent was raised. 52 pp. Englisch.
