The text, which is printed in Spanish with an English translation includes an essay "The cabinet of Jan Hendrix" by Antonio Saborit as well as an essay by Cuauhtemoc Medina. "Scripts" was limited to 500 copies and includes an essay "Piece in a Box", also in Spanish and English, by Issa Maria Benitez Duenas.Laid into "Bitacora" is a customs declaration and an autograph note signed on a 3-1/2" x 8-1/2" card from Jan Hendrix to author Peter Matthiessen: "Here are some of the latest publications (catalogues) I'm still preparing a more extensive book on travelling and landscape. Regards, Jan --".Born in the Netherlands in 1949, Jan Hendrix spent time in France, Portugal, Norway and Ireland in the 1970s, before settling in Mexico in 1978. He is recognized for his achievements in architecture and literature as well as the visual arts and has illustrated books by such authors as Seamus Heany and Gabriel Garcia Marquez. The works in these two catalogs are described as boxes or cabinets of curiosities.The "Scripts" catalog is especially scarce.…
