Oblong folio. 14 x 11 in. [8 pp (unpaginated).], colour-illustrated throughout. Colour-illustrated self-printed softcovers, cover art of debonair couple and their poodle with the exceptional 1955 two-tone Royal Lancer (very minor dustsoiling, slight bumping to couple corners), still a VG bright copy. First edition of this exceed…ingly scarce dealer's premium brochure for the unfortunately neglected 1955 Royal Lancer reflecting the styling efforts of Maury Baldwin under Virgil Exner attempting to offset the disastrous sales level of the 1954 Chrysler Dodge line-up. These models featured a "Darrin dip" for the Royal Lancer model, 270 cubic-inch Super Ram Red V-8 Hemi, fed by double-downdraft Stromberg Carburetor, and easily cleared 100 miles per hour, with excellent suspension. This catalogue also reflects the push to market towards women in the Mid-1950's with women in evening wear, preparing for picnic, along with gloved hands easily operating the automatic "PowerFlite Drive," and window controls. No copies in Worldcat; See: Stork & Dolle, Glamour Road, Color, Fashion, Style and the Midcentury Automobile, pp. 149-156.

4to. 50 camera-ready printed photographic leaves, on thick glossy card stock, preserved with original kit file folder, TLS on Dodge Division letterhead, and original mailing envleope (minor creasing, edgewear), NF set. The 1962 model year was a decided disaster for the Dodge Division, primarily because the company Vice President… in charge of development mistakenly decided to shrink all of the Dodge models in order to better compete with the Chevrolet Chevy II, and the Rambler models. The 1962 models were placed on reduced wheel bases, and the cost cutting measures only added to the size of the disaster. This Promotional kit includes photos of all the models released that year, as well as a number of storyboard photo series featuring maintenance and fueling of the autos, changing flat tires, policemen in Dodge police cars tracking down and stopping suspects, Dodge ambulances, traveling and staying at the Howard Johnson. In addition, there is included a substantial section of photographs devoted to the Dodge Trucks, and heavy Trucks, as well as commercial panel vans and delivery vans released in 1962. See: Kevin Martin, Suddenly it's 1962, Curbside Classic (2013); Aaron Severson, The Dodge that (Almost) Ate Detroit: Chrysler's Disastrous 1962 Downsizing, Ate Up With Motor, Automotive History (2009).
