Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. 1st Edition. Inscribed presentation from Jim Wickwire, famous for the ascent of K2. Seattle, Washington: The Mountaineers, 1980. Small 4to. 10 inches high. 301 pages. 33 pages with colour photographs. Very fine in very fine dust jacket. Comes with a 22 line typed letter by Jim Wickwire to a mountaineering enthusiast, in which he describes Galen Rowell?s account of the attempt to climb K2, and Ridgeway?s version in THE LAST STEP. Wickwire, who participated in the ascent of K2, writes authoritatively: ?I consider Rick Ridgeway?s THE LAST STEP to be a better book . His narrative drive is powerful and sustained.? Very nice association copy. Scarce. Inscribed by Author(s).
