Dust jacket has loss to the top and bottom of the spine, and moderate darkening. In archival protection. Book itself has a little rubbing to top and base of spine. Internally, generally very clean, but has some smoke damage to the top edge of the initial pages, and to the bottom closed page edge. Overall a very useable copy, enhanced by the author's signature. Volume II has bookplate inside front cover and a school library stamp on front flyleaf, corners & spine are shelf worn and there is a worn spot middle front edge. Volume II has bookplate and school library stamp. The only other library marking in the entire set is a book pocket in the back of volume 3. Corners and spine are shelf worn and bumped.
