We begin with an analysis of how various archetypes of scientists are represented in the work, and then delve into an investigation of the various ways scientific concepts and technological innovations influence the unfolding of the plot. In the third and last chapter we also make some considerations about the conceptions of time in the work and how they relate to conceptions of time developed in science, with special emphasis on physics.
