Das Blatt zeigt Mikulov (Nikolsburg) in Mähren, wurde jedoch vom Stecher fälschlicherweise als Lymburg bezichnet. Tafel D88 aus dem Werk: Thesaurus philopoliticus (Meisner's Schatzkästlein), von Daniel Meisn…er / Meissner (1585-1625), erschienen bei Paul Fürst in Nürnberg, 1637-38. Aus Meisners berühmtem emblematischen Ansichtenwerk, das auf insgesamt 800 Blatt die europäischen, zu einem geringeren Anteil auch die außereuropäischen Städte abbildete. Die teils von den Kupferstechern signierten Ansichten u.a. von M. Merian, S. Furck und J. E. Löffler. Der vollständige Titel des Werkes varierte je nach Ausgabe, in unserem Fall lautete er: Sciographia cosmica : Daß ist: Newes emblematisches Büchlein, darinnen in 8 Centurijs die vornembste Stätt, Vestung, Schlösser ec. der gantzen Welt, gleichsam adumbrirt und in Kupffer gestochen, mit schönen Lateinischen und Teutsche Versiculn des orths proprietet betreffent, ad Vivum abgebildet werden Sehr anmuthig und nützlich zu betrachten und in diese Ordnung gebracht. - ENGLISH: Copper engraving185 x 160 mm. Minorily browned and/or soiled in the margin (see images please), else well preserved leaf. Die Darstellung scheint den Ort Nikolsburg zu zeigen, heute Mikulov in Mähren.
