This is a friendly biography of Eisenhower, which combines the quick survey of a career that in itself speaks for the man, and a skilfully interpolated succession of extracts from writings, letters, speeches, so that one gets a sense of an autobiography. A great man- and a humble one- emerges from these pages. The author was a long-time staff member for Eisenhower and one of his major speech writers from 1946-1957. A clean very presentable copy.
