Aggiungi al carrelloFirst edition, small 4to, pp. xxii, 282 columns, [3], [287]-307, [3] pp. [311]-340 columns, [1] errata; original terracotta cloth lettered in gilt on upper cover and spine; snag at the top of the front free endpaper, else very good and sound. With the green 19th-century bookseller's ticket of John Penington & Son, Philadelphia on the front pastedown. This copy with a number of 19th-century erudite notes in pencil in the margins. Given the nature of the subject and the publishers it was likely issued in a small edition, many of which, 98 at least, are located in various libraries around the world. The number of Americans (assuming this book was not repatriated) with a knowledge of Meoso-Gothic in the 19th-century was obviously miniscule, and the notes in this copy may prove to be more valuable than first imagined.
