Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book unlocks a method developed by the author to accurately determine a ship's position at sea, even when critical information such as latitude or time is uncertain. The author explains this method, using principles of spherical trigonometry, to project parallels of equal altitude on a nautical chart. He demonstrates how using two altitudes, observed at any hour and at any angle from the meridian, makes it possible to obtain both the true latitude and longitude of the ship, an innovation that greatly enhances the accuracy of celestial navigation and makes utilizing a single altitude a viable option when necessary. Throughout the book, the author provides examples and detailed instructions for practical application. The method presented in this book greatly facilitates the use of double altitudes and elevates the accuracy of single-altitude observations, a technique that remains as relevant today as when it was first developed. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
