Soft cover. Condizione: Fair. Two copies, one from 1931 and the other from 1935. Both are moisture damaged (colors running onto opposite pages) with small pulled off areas on 1935 copy. Spines are both partialy torn. 1931 is 53 pages and 1935 is 56 pages. Great illustrations.

Condizione: Good. - Small oblong quarto [7-1/4 inches high by 8-1/4 inches wide], softcover bound in pictorial wraps. The spine is perished with the wraps nearly detached. The wraps are lightly rubbed, bumped & soiled with their inner corners chipped. 57 pages, including inside wraps, with an order form illustrated with a map laid in. Profuse color illustrations. The illustrations are clean & bright. Good only.

Olson Rug Company was established in 1874. The manufacturing mill was located in Chicago at Diversey Ave. And Pulaski. During the war era, when raw material was scarce, people would send in their old wool rugs, rags, clothing etc. And Olson Rug would turn them into a beautiful area rug. The family owned business was "the place" to buy rugs for many years. EB; 8vo 8" - 9" tall.

8vo. 32 pp. Colour-illustrated throughout, numerous black & white text illustrations. Colour-illustrated softcovers (slight shelfwear), NF copy. First edition of this lavishly illustrated and scarce Jazz Age flooring catalogue for the famed Chicago rug manufactuer. Found in 1874 by Walter E. Olson, this beautiful catalogue includes a number of interior designs showing the rugs fitted into Arts & Crafts homes, and Flapper Era homes with decor, window treatments, and furnishings. The Olson Rug Company was a pioneering recycling firm detailing how they used old carpets, rugs, and old clothing to produce velvety rugs which would rival in appearance and wearing high grade Wiltons and Axminsters. The Olson Company is perhaps best remembered for the Olson Park and Waterfall which was a popular local tourist attraction located outside the factory until sold to Marshall Field in 1965 which subsequently plowed the gardens under and created a parking lot.
