Aggiungi al carrelloSoft cover. Condizione: Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Fair. First Edition. Pp. 48. Soft cover wraps are frayed, nicked and worn with edge loss. Published by the Italian Institute of Culture in Dublin on the occasion of the visit to Ireland of the poet Salvatore Quasimodo, February, 1963. The poems have been translated into Irish by Ethna Byrne Costigan and Mairin and Cearbhall O Dalaigh, and into English by G.H. McWilliam, Jennifer McWilliam, Ulick O'Connor and Lorna Reynolds. Salvatore Quasimodo (1901-1968) was a Sicilian novelist and poet. Small diminishing worm hole penetrates through the wraps and the first 4 leaves. In 1959 he won the Nobel Prize in Literature "for his lyrical poetry, which with classical fire expresses the tragic experience of life in our own times" Along with Giuseppe Ungaretti and Eugenio Montale, he was one of the foremost Italian poets of the 20th century.
