The Soviet Union sent the first probe to the Moon's… surface on 14th September 1959. Colourful design on a blue background featuring a shining red Soviet star on the Moscow Kremlin clock tower with a plane flying at speed above a ship marked Lenin on the curve of the globe earth below the text and logo on a large flag on the moon above. The Soviet Union launched Luna 1 (aka Mechta / Dream) on 2 January 1959, the first lunar spacecraft and human-made object to leave the earth's orbit and fly by the moon. Large size.
