Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Second harmonic imaging microscopy (SHIM) is based on a nonlinear optical effect known as second harmonic generation (SHG). SHIM has been established as a viable microscope imaging contrast mechanism for visualization of cell and tissue structure and function. A second harmonic microscope obtains contrasts from variations in a specimen s ability to generate second harmonic light from the incident light while a conventional optical microscope obtains its contrast by detecting variations in optical density, path length, or refractive index of the specimen. SHG requires intense laser light passing through a material with a noncentrosymmetric molecular structure. Second-harmonic light emerging from an SHG material is exactly half the wavelength (frequency doubled) of the light entering the material. 112 pp. Englisch.…

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articlesavailable from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Bright fieldmicroscopy is the simplest of all the optical microscopy illuminationtechniques. Sample illumination is transmitted (i.e., illuminated frombelow and observed from above) white light and contrast in the sample iscaused by absorbance of some of the transmitted light in dense areas ofthe sample. Bright field microscopy is the simplest of a range oftechniques used for illumination of samples in light microscopes and itssimplicity makes it a popular technique. The typical appearance of abright field microscopy image is a dark sample on a bright backgroundhence the name.…
